NORTH DAKOTA / REGIONAL RESEARCH
Explore geology
Select a county and geological layers. Only your authorized data is requested.
MULTI-STATE RESEARCH PLATFORM
Choose your research state
Each state uses the same interface but has separate data permissions and provider adapters. A state card does not grant access.

Parcel layer activates at zoom 15+ with authorized county coverage.
These map layers are observed/published GIS data, not an interpreted 3D subsurface model. Borehole-based 3D geometry is not yet built for North Dakota.
SURVEY DRAFTING · DXF · PROJECTS
CAD & Survey workspace
Create projects, draft new DXF drawings in-browser, or import existing survey data. Originals are preserved; every draft save creates a new DXF revision. MLightCAD remains optional.
1 · Research project
Select or create a project first.
2 · New CAD drawing
Start from an empty sketch. Feet are the default; the sketch uses international feet (not US survey feet), and the georeferenced DXF exports coordinates in the projected CRS units (meters). Enter a site longitude/latitude for map alignment; empty fields use a provisional state reference.
3 · Import survey DXF
Original DXF is preserved privately. Geometry is converted to WGS84 for map alignment; the original coordinate reference is retained.
4 · Project drawing library
No project selected
Project map files · KML / KMZ
Import geographic map files into project references. ScoutTract stores converted WGS84 geometry for map viewing; the original KML/KMZ bytes are not preserved for download.
No project selected.
Map selection / survey reference
Map selection is stored as a user research reference; it does not certify a cadastral boundary.
Drawing preview
Select a project or create a blank drawing.
Choose a tool. Two clicks for lines and rectangles; double-click to finish polylines and polygons. Esc cancels a shape.
This preview is server-rendered and read-only. It does not change the original DXF.

DRONE IMAGERY · OPEN DRONE MAP · NODEODM 2.2.1 API
Photogrammetry processing
Drone photos are uploaded from the browser to ScoutTract, then streamed to the configured NodeODM engine. NodeODM runs on a separate machine or container. Raw imagery stays under the processing node's control; do not expose NodeODM's port to the public internet. Output availability depends on the job options.
1 · Choose project and processing settings
Advanced · additional ODM processing option
2 · Upload imagery and control files
Select a created processing job, then upload overlapping drone images in batches. Optional control files: geo.txt, GCP .txt, LAS/LAZ, or seed.zip. Upload first, then explicitly start processing. 512 MB per file; 10 GB per task.
Ground control coordinates and datum must be verified before a survey is treated as accurate. ODM produces reconstruction, not a certified boundary survey.

Console output appears here when requested.
Available photogrammetry products
Orthomosaic · Georeferenced TIFF / optional KMZ
Elevation · DSM and DTM GeoTIFF when enabled
Point cloud · PLY, LAS/LAZ (depending on engine options)
3D mesh · Textured OBJ / optional glTF
Processing report · ODM quality and reconstruction summary, where generated
This tab launches and monitors processing. Georeferenced overlays and 3D assets from the results ZIP require a separate import/tiling step before appearing on the geographic or geological map.

Set GEOATLAS_NODEODM_URL and, if needed, GEOATLAS_NODEODM_TOKEN on the server. API tokens and remote node URLs are never supplied directly to research users.
Choose a state, county and a small geographic area. Data is queried server-side.
Regional model tiles are interpretations, not surveyed contacts. Full Minnesota geometry access required; downloads also require export permission. Elevations un-exaggerated in GeoTIFF.
GeoTIFF: EPSG:26915. Offline interactive HTML opens in Chrome/Edge. GLB opens in 3D software. PDF includes a readable preview; rotation requires Acrobat 3D support.
Depth is in feet below the surface at each well; the chart does not establish a continuous subsurface contact.
COUNTY-SCOPED / PRIVATE DATA ADAPTERS
Wells, wetlands & survey documents
Each query goes through your ScoutTract login and authorization. Source data stays server-side. The original Minnesota standalone files remain outside this access system.
ND wetland polygons are fetched live at parcel scale. ND driller-log and survey indexes require verified public CSV imports by an administrator.
The tile viewer is a development preview of the original interpreted surfaces. It still requires MN/geometry access.
Open Explore and click a county parcel, geology polygon, or survey corner.
Selected records are stored privately on this server. Downloads require export privileges for every included dataset.
Drive upload requires a separate Google authorization in ScoutTract. Files remain private unless you share them in Drive. Existing 12-hour ScoutTract links work only while this server is reachable. Switching storage will not remove older packages.
Select the available records you want. ZIPs are categorized by state, county, and dataset. External county deeds and survey PDFs are not downloaded automatically.
Saved ZIPs are kept in this server's private storage for up to 30 days. Shared links expire after 12 hours and can be revoked. Anyone holding the link can access the package while it is valid; don't share sensitive records. A localhost address cannot be accessed outside your PC.
The server verifies export permissions and county boundaries before returning records. A permitted export may include up to the visible query limit.
Research points are saved to the local server account, not publicly shared.
Tasks, source checks & change notifications
Task reminders display in ScoutTract. Only Minnesota CWI snapshot comparisons are currently implemented; agency polling and email delivery must be configured separately.

Research projects
Save projects privately under your account. Imported geometry is converted to WGS84 and does not automatically become an authoritative GIS source.
Exploration report · 11 × 17 in
Create a landscape tabloid PDF with the selected parcel area and authorized nearby GIS features. Download a ZIP with the PDF, GeoJSON layers and source notes. Missing datasets are labeled missing—not invented.
Neighboring parcels and nearby survey corners appear if their GIS service responds. The ND NWI wetland service is connected; well logs and GLO links populate only after official-source imports.
Your invitee completes a profile and chooses a password. Access begins at redemption, expires automatically after 15 days, and cannot exceed your own dataset permissions. This is not a paid subscription.
Personal workspace settings
Preferences are stored per account. External service keys are encrypted on this server and never returned to the browser after saving.
MFA is off in this development build.
Phone verification requires a separately configured Twilio provider. Mobile yes/no approval is not yet connected.
STATE & FEDERAL LAND RESEARCH
Land & mineral opportunities
Research—not a verified list of land available for mining. Surface title, mineral title, leasing and permitting must be confirmed independently.
Browse your saved records, choose prospects for a shortlist, and export only records you are authorized to export.
| Pick | State / county | Prospect | Stage | Rights | Price / area | Source |
|---|
A research candidate is not a confirmed property sale or an authorization to mine.
Select records above, then name your shortlist. You can also create an empty list and add records later.
REGULATORY EVENTS · VERIFIED-SOURCE RECORDS ONLY
Mining compliance & incident screening
MSHA events are separate from EPA ECHO facility screening snapshots. Select Minnesota, North Dakota, or Colorado above to review county totals. EPA facility summaries do not represent new incidents.
No ingestion started. Large MSHA ZIPs may take considerable time and disk space. Leave ScoutTract open and running while importing.
Geo-referenced events only; geographic scale in latitude/longitude. Values reflect documented regulator records and reporting coverage.
Invitation creation is configurable. Trials expire server-side; invitations and signups do not process payments or activate a paid plan.
Counts start when this version is installed; partial transfer-byte accounting and cache recommendations are estimates, not provider billing.
Mobile approve/deny and SMS verification are staged features. Enforcement cannot be turned on until a real SMS provider and verified phone enrollment are ready.
Per-process cache health, last success, failures and circuit status; refreshes on demand. This is not a live external-uptime test.
No provider requests recorded yet.
Each GIS request checks authenticated identity, state, dataset, and county permissions. Queries are restricted to official county geometry and clipped on the server.
Before public hostingRequire HTTPS, managed identity or SSO, audit logs, backups, rate limits, and a deployment security review. Do not expose this development server on the internet.
